About Us
Noyes Tire Company started in 1916 in Portland, ME, by Herbert Walker Noyes Senior, and his brother Channey Noyes. Noyes Tire line was US Royal and General Tires. However, retreading was the primary business.
In 1960 Herbert Walker Noyes Junior expanded the company to 20 retail stores and 3 retreading stores forming the largest independent tire dealer in the country. Noyes Tire was the largest Cooper, Kelly, Michelin, Uniroyal, and Toyo tire dealer in New England. Herbert Walker Noyes Junior and all seven of his children were committed to this vision and each involved in different aspects of the tire business.
It was during this time he built a team of family and employees who were dedicated to serving their customers and community. This high level of dedication to customer service and the community was phenomenal for this time. Soon after, Noyes Tire expanded in a new direction and offered more automobile repair services to its customers.
Today Noyes provides a multi-line of tire brands including Nokian, Dayton, Cooper, Goodyear, Michelin, and much more. In addition to the tire business we offer a full range of automobile repairs. Alignments, brakes, muffler, transmission, tune-ups, VT State Inspections, are just some of the services we offer.
Today, Noyes Automotive is still family owned and operated by Herbert Walker Noyes the III or "Herbie" as everyone knows him.
